WWF and MBNA to Extend Multi-million Pound Charity Credit Card Programme for a Further Five Years (2024)

WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) and MBNA to build on 20-year relationship, which has already raised £13 million for the benefit of nature

Charity credit card provider of the year* MBNA and WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) are to extend their 20 year affinity card relationship until the end of 2019.

The credit card affinity relationship, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in January 2015, has helped raise more than £13 million for the charity thanks to its passionate and engaged cardholding supporters.

To celebrate, WWF customers and supporters, as well as the wider public, have the chance to choose the next card image from one of five stunning new card designs supplied by WWF - visit http://www.wwf.org.uk/actionmbna.

MBNA is also supporting the anniversary celebrations by enhancing the value of the card for eligible new customers. For applications received between October 1st and November 12th 2014, the WWF Credit Card will offer eligible new customers zero percent on balance transfers and money transfers for up to 31 months from the date of account opening (2.88 percent handling fee, £3 minimum, applies to balance transfers and a 4.00 percent handling fee, £3 minimum, applies to money transfers). This offer only applies to transfers made in the first 90 days. It is an increase from the previous 24-month offer period.

The WWF Credit Card also offers zero percent interest on purchases made in the first three months from the date the account is opened.

Representative example 18.9% p.a. variable on card purchases. This is equivalent to 18.9% APR representative variable based on a credit limit of £1,200.

When new WWF Credit Card customers open an account and use their card, MBNA will pay WWF up to £40 when the card is used within 90 days of account opening, plus £2 for every year a customer uses their card and 40p for every £100 spent by customers on card purchases. For the next six weeks from October 1 2014, MBNA will add a further £10 for every new customer signing up and using their card within the first 90 days.
